My Students
I pull small reading groups from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. My students generally fall below average with respect to achievement but there is nothing average about them! Many of my students are English language learners and come from diverse backgrounds. My groups are a microcosm of the United Colors of Benetton.
My students enjoy reading texts that are culturally relevant and using hands-on activities to support their learning.
Every day is an adventure teaching and learning with them!
I have already told them about the possibility of being funded and they are hopeful and excited to receive the items!
My Project
I will be able to better prepare learning materials for the enrichment of my students with these donations.
I can not wait to color print task cards and laminate them for long term use!
Dry erase markers are a commodity in our classroom. They often grow legs while losing tops and drying out in a week's span. I also make anchor charts a few times a week and run out of easel paper constantly! Now I'll have several easels to last the school year.
I am so excited! My students are excited! I will be sure to tell other educators how to fund for their classrooms and students.
