Our third-grade students are part of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
They are a diverse mix of curious, caring, enthusiastic learners.
I am proud to work in an elementary school where the dedicated teachers truly consider the "whole child" when designing and implementing daily instruction. Most of our curriculum is authentic and teacher-created, and our students thrive on being actively involved in their own learning.
My Project
My students love to come to school each day and are eager to learn. They put their heart into everything that they do. We use the "Class Dojo" system for tracking student behavior. It is proven to be informative, effective, and motivating! Each week, students can cash in their Dojo points and shop at our classroom store.
Motivational reward coupons and incentive prizes will be used to recognize students for extra effort and principled choices for learning.
My students are intrinsically motivated, but also look forward to recognition for going above and beyond what is expected.
The children enjoy playing and collecting Pokemon cards and drawing during indoor recess. The collections that I requested are sealed booster packs, which will make earning and opening them extra exciting for everyone! By playing Pokemon during indoor recess, they are putting math calculation skills to use.
The pencils are made from 100% recycled material and are delightfully scented! Not only will students enjoy earning these, but they will also encourage students to keep their special supplies organized each day. Finally, the "Pencil Parking" pocket chart will eliminate the frustration that students experience in losing their runaway pencils during class changes and at the end of the day. They can park them in a safe spot!
