Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Special Ed Preschool teacher and have 14 amazing students. We are a half day program so we pack a lot of fun and learning into our morning and afternoon sessions. My classroom has some outstanding students that are lively, spunky, and capable.
I need to adapt things for my students with mobility issues so they feel fully included.
My students have a hunger for learning and love experiencing new things. They take joy in the little things and great pride when they accomplish a task.
My Project
There are many ways an iPad can be used in a special needs preschool classroom. We use the iPad for educational games, turn taking, making requests, and so much more.
We are in need of another iPad for our classroom to support student learning in math and literacy.
Currently, our classroom has 1 iPad for both student and teacher use during large and smaller group lessons. I would like to add another iPad to our room so that way more students can have access to the iPad at one time. It will also be helpful when my paraprofessional and I are both teaching small groups simultaneously.
The case I picked out is childproof and will help keep our iPad safe and secure. I know our iPad will be very well loved and used a lot, so a sturdy case is very important.
