My students are amazing kids that come from low-income households. The school I work for is a title 1 school. Many of the students that I have don't have things to read at home and school is the only place that they can get their hands on a book to read.
They want to read and are willing to read but with the lack of having books at home, having them here helps benefit their reading abilities such as fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
Some of my students are English Language Learners and having a book here to read with the class helps support their English abilities.
