Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from all over the world and for some this is their first year in the United States. Some of them have never been in school before or have had limited schooling in their home language.
They are the most positive and hardworking students I have ever seen.
My students love to learn and be creative every day. I love seeing them and the faces they make when they are able to grasp all the topics we are learning.
My Project
My students will use these books to learn more about poetry and figurative language. These books will also help them with their reading fluency and accuracy. Most of my students are English language learners and having poetry in our classroom will allow them to think differently and try to read and understand other types of language.
This donation will tremendously help my students to grow and become better readers.
I would love to help increase their genre knowledge and how to understand literature and figurative language.
