Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first time your teacher read aloud Edgar Allan Poe? This year I had the opportunity to add poetry to my curriculum. After reading "The Raven" my students were hooked.

My elementary school has been recognized by TEA as Title I, Part A State Distinguished Schools for 2011-2012.

But, despite all the hard work and recognition we received, my students still don't have the same opportunities as other school children. After becoming excited about poetry they soon learned that there was not enough poetry books to go around.

My Project

Watching my students grow and learn from each other has inspired me to look for ways to enrich their learning. By exposing them to all kinds of literature, they will enjoy reading and learning so much more. Adding poetry is an excellent way to do this. That is why I am asking for your help. By making a donation, you can enrich my students' learning. I would be able to offer my students the poetry resources they need am requesting great Poetry books.

I am requesting a donation of poetry books for my students to use in my class and to share with my team.

This is a great opportunity for you to impact the educational lives of some great students.
