My Project

Literature often teaches life lessons before experience. As a young child, many learned from Aesop's fable "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" the importance of telling the truth. Dr. Seuss books teach lessons of responsibility and trust. This class set of "Starfish" will help strengthen my students' understanding of diversity and inclusion. This book makes poetry more relatable and understandable as it tells the story of Ellie, an over-weight middle school girl, dealing with bullies at home and at school. "Starfish" should be required reading for all pre-teens. This book will make the perfect addition to our classroom library.
