My Students
My classroom is a representation of the world. I have students of all races, cultures, religions, socioeconomic, and abilities. Our school is one of the most diverse schools in the nation!
We have students from over 30 different nations and there are over 30 different languages spoken throughout the building!
Despite being a Title I school and having one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation, our students are a family - if only the rest of the world would follow their example.
My Project
In our ever-changing world, teaching has to keep up. Students need to see the "real-world" value is what they are learning. Writing is a skill that many students think they will never use unless they are a writer, but how incorrect they are because everyone is a writer!
Students will combine their technology, interpersonal, and writing skills to create podcast episodes for our brand new class podcast: Dragon Tales!
This is a project that will grow every year! Students will be able to choose if they want to create a fictional piece, literary non-fiction, or informational piece. Students will then work in small groups to complete writing stations and learn the steps of creating a podcast.
