I am so excited for all of the new books my students are able to have access to! I've had students ASKING TO READ on their own and asking to borrow these new books! Many of our students's families lack the resources for new things, including books, and, because of your generosity, they are able to enjoy these books for free at school, and they are WANTING to read them! I am beyond grateful for this opportunity for them to increase their skill set and their love for reading. Students often forget to charge their Chromebooks or leave their chargers somewhere. This project and the donations have been a game changer, preventing students from having an \"excuse\" not to do the work in class. Thank you for this.\r\n\r\nThe students were most excited about the charging stations. Because of their long cords, they are easy to space around the room when needed. This has been very handy and useful because they do not have to get up and move to a spot close to the wall to charge and disrupt other students.\r\n\r\nLastly, the lights- the motivational neon lights have been such a great addition to the classroom. I am so thankful for these. They are great quick reminders to myself and to my students about not quitting, to be kind, and to dream. Thank you for these additions to our classroom environment.","fullyFundedDate":1757532716036,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-updates-lights-and-chargers/9423763/","projectTitle":"Classroom Updates - lights and chargers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brittany Stewart","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5550617_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753129181757","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/brittany-stewart"},{"teacherId":5550617,"projectId":9423641,"letterContent":"This project has been such a wonderful tool to have in my classroom. The students have enjoyed each and every item. (Who knew that high schoolers would love stuffed animals?!?) The Calm Ball is always a topic for discussion. I have even had students pick it up and do what it says. Love it.\r\n The novels that were chosen for my classroom library have been added and are in rotation. I love that I am able to have a section just for SEL for students, and for some, it really does matter. Students tend to gravitate toward them just as much as they gravitate towards our graphic novels. I love that the donation included a variety of topics and authors. Students seem to really enjoy them. \r\n Lastly, this project has brought so much conversation in the classroom. It has allowed some students to open up. Choosing a novel (we do independent reads along with classroom reads) and sharing what has been read with me as well as other classmates has allowed students to be honest and actually talk in the classroom. Several of the novels have been \"checked out\" by students when they have heard a peer's take on the novel. I love that they are reading, talking, and sharing. \r\n Thank you; without you, this would not have been possible.","fullyFundedDate":1757532681278,"projectUrl":"project/sel-in-the-english-classroom/9423641/","projectTitle":"SEL in the English Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brittany Stewart","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5550617_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753129181757","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/brittany-stewart"},{"teacherId":4914922,"projectId":9445083,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting my talented students! The weighted balls, bat weights, and all of the other training material have been an asset to our team and are constantly being utilized for teaching, training, and conditioning. These resources will help me develop and plan a unit that I hope will be interesting and inspiring for the students.\r\n\r\nI am excited to break down the film and then break down the concept into novels. However, I am most excited to allow students to attempt the same thing after learning about film, creating their own miniature version of a piece of literature to film.\r\n\r\nAs far as warming up to the opportunity, we have not used these items yet because the class does not start until January 2026. If I had to guess, this would make for an adventurous opportunity to create something from nothing. I love it when opportunities arise for all students to be able to feel comfortable and make their work time enjoyable. Students have enjoyed using the wobble seats, wobble stands, and even the desk fidget bands. This opportunity has reached many students, and it's made the classroom feel much more comfortable and inviting.\r\n\r\nWhen I first brought out these donations and set them up around the classroom, students seemed confused. It took a few brave souls to test them out, and now most students are drawn to use the wobble seats and stands. (Due to placement, they are standing at the standing desks, and a table includes our wobble seats.) \r\n\r\nWhat I have really enjoyed seeing is beign able to use these donations with group work. Students have the option to move desks, use the standing desks and wobble stands, and or have a group at the table with wobble seats.
