My Project
Hi! I started a podcasting unit this year in our Educational Media class in the library and students loved it. I'm looking to build on that success by acquiring a Focusrite digital interface that has four inputs for students to plug in multiple microphones and instruments at once to provide a rich multimedia experience.
A digital interface is a box that connects the analog sounds coming from instruments and microphones to a digital signal that the computer can recognize.
It creates clear recordings that cancel out background noise that is essential considering our library is not that large of a room and we have up to 25 students in it at one time.
Students had a blast making podcasts this year. I taught them the basic structure of the podcast: 15 seconds of intro music, then 2-5 minutes to conduct an interview or spoken word story or news report of some kind, followed by 15 seconds of outro music.
Thank you for your support! Students would definitely put this podcasting gear to good use!
