This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Underdogs, that's who we are! We are the dark horses of education who rise above cognitive and physical disabilities to achieve success. My students are special education students who have voices and narratives that transcend what is expected of them. Their stories are uncanny, they are filled with grief, perseverance, and above all else, their stories share the common thread of a belief that they can achieve anything. These narratives are amazing and inspiring! These narratives highlight their plights in special education, the educators, administrators, and therapists who have rallied around them and their families to pave their way to view life from the mountain top.

My students have stories that need to be heard!

They are residents of Yonkers, New York. They are spirited, self-motivated and aspire to chase their dreams no matter the obstacles they face. With the new normal that Covid-19 has brought upon us, the separation and uncertainties of life have added particularities to their life that need to be heard. We share a dream to tell and archive our stories so that they will serve as anecdotes that are filled with GRIT. We also hope to encourage others to tell their stories.

My Project

If we were to get funded for this project I would be able to use this equipment to help my students do several things. My students will become news reporters. Every student would have to research various events and write about them. They then would have to read their reports while being recorded. This would help them to hear themselves and comprehend the importance of being able to articulate a message and use grade level vocabulary. They would also be able to understand the importance of being able to convey messages clearly. The Rodecaster Pro will also allow my students to interview faculty and special guests to help themselves overcome their shyness and improve their ability to initiate meaningful conversation.

The Rodecaster Pro Podcasting bundle would be the ideal equipment to help me record these uncanny narratives of triumph.

This equipment would allow me to capture these timeless stories in interviews so that they would be told in a meaningful story-like way. This equipment is also going to serve as an introduction to television and radio.
