My Project
My school is extremely lucky in that we can provide every student with their own iPad. As these students have grown up around these devices, they are absolutely amazing at using them to create stunning audiovisual projects. One of the most successful projects we undertake is an oral history podcast. Students choose their own topic, create questions, and go out into the school and wider community to interview stakeholders. This is at once a civic education, an act of journalism, and an amazing real-life, get-out-of-the-classroom project. Students often discover a love of radio, journalism, and history they did not know they had.
The only limiting factor is the overall sound quality of these interviews-- with these microphones, students will be able to create professional sounding projects that take us to the next level.
