it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to find out about my students. My school has over 1,000 students and is rated a tier 1 school (high poverty). My second grade students are so happy to be back in school after spending a year learning remotely. They are eager to learn and so appreciative of anything they are given.
My students don't have a lot of supplies at home, so I strive to provide materials for at home and in school.
I want them to feel safe, taken care of and have the support and opportunities to try new things and not be afraid to take risks.
I do not get a classroom budget for school supplies so I try to do my best to supply my students with what I can on my own. Any help you are able to give would be greatly appreciated.
My Project
Classroom materials and routines have changed in the last couple of years. Students need access to technology and the ability to have materials that they can keep for their personal use. The chair pockets would help me to keep our students safe and healthy.
The pockets would provide a clean, safe place to store personal materials for academic performance.
My second graders would be able to store their devices and headphones right at their seat. They wouldn't have to use valuable learning time to find their device and untangle headphone wires. They would have their belongings right at their seat keeping the materials safe and healthy.
We don't get outside often, but when we do the jump ropes would provide a great release of energy and provide an opportunity to play with others at a distance.
We do break masks and lose them. It would be wonderful to have a box of masks as back up in the classroom.
