Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is having many more new-to-country children. The students are frustrated and exhausted because they don't understand English. Their teachers are frustrated and tired because they want all their students to succeed.
This Pocketalks device is amazing because it can translate back and forth orally AND take a picture of the textbook page and translate the page into the student's home language.
A win-win situation because the student can first read it in their first language, giving them access to the learning their classmates have. At the same time, they are also learning English too!
The bilingual books are for a lending library so children and their families can learn English together!
