I teach a group of energetic and motivated first graders. They are of mixed ethnicity that include Hawaiian, Samoan, Filipino and Caucasian. My students vary in academic levels, interests, behaviors, learning styles and economic status. All of them have different qualities that make them learn and grow in their own special ways. It is my job to make sure I provide specialized and differentiated experiences for my students! No two students learn the same way. It's my duty and honor to help support their learning by creating an abundance of unique learning opportunities.
My Project
My students work in language arts and math learning stations every week and they love them. There are many games and activities they work on that have cards and or multiple pieces to them. Pocket charts and pocket chart stands will help with organization while they are working, as well as give them a specific place to work. The more organized the stations are, the more productive my students can be.
These resources will help me facilitate better learning stations for my students, which will allow me to work with my small groups uninterrupted.
The sentence strips will also be used in math and language arts learning stations. My students will use them to write words, sentences and math equations. All of these resources will have a huge impact on my students and their learning!
