Plugging Back in to Learning

Help me give my students extension cords and recharging cables so that they can charge and/or use their computers in school this year.

My Students

Our high school is what most places call a "magnet school." Students come from all over the city to take a test in order to attend. Our high school is arguably the most racially diverse with about one-fourth of our students being African-American, Asian, Latino, and White.

More than fifty percent of our students are from families below the federal poverty level.

Nonetheless, we have a one hundred percent college acceptance rate. Our students work hard, but they need more than what the district provides.

My Project

After a year and a half of remote and hybrid learning, our district is preparing to return to all in person instruction. Students are expected to continue to use their Chromebooks which were issued to them at the start of the pandemic.

Over the course of the day computers need to be plugged in and recharged.

With this project I will be able to offer charging cables to students who mistakenly leave theirs at home. The extension cords will allow students to sit at their desks and recharge (as the outlets are all at the front of my class).
