This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher at a Title I school in Greenville, South Carolina. My school is a high poverty school where all students receive free lunch and free breakfast.

At my school, "Every Student Counts, and Every Moment Matters!" We want the moments that matter most to be those in which our students learn not only the curriculum but life lessons that will carry them through their teenage years and into adulthood.

The students overcome obstacles every day in our school from language barriers to essential needs, but they still come to school with a smile on their face. I want to make their 5th grade year as special as possible. To do that, I need your help!

My Project

Headphones are a great opportunity for my students to learn at their own pace during independent activities. These headphones, and an organizer, will not only be used for content area lessons, but will also give students the freedom to be creative with podcasts, creating videos, creating presentations, and much more.

All student deserve the opportunity to learn and create independently and at their own pace!

The biggest thing these headphones will do is to allow the non-English speaking students in my classroom an outlet to continue practicing the English language. These students deserve to feel comfortable in the classroom while they are learning a new language and these headphones will do just that. Please consider helping my students get the materials they need to add to the success they are gaining in the classroom!
