Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next year, I will serve as the P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) teacher, guiding students through exciting explorations in coding, robotics, and digital creativity. But in addition to teaching tech, I’ll also have times when I provide classroom coverage, lead indoor recess, or facilitate school-wide incentives. That’s why I’m dreaming of creating a fun, interactive, and safe play option that mixes nostalgia with movement and healthy competition.

My Project

I’m requesting a Nex Playground set and a durable carrying case with tripod to help make indoor time active, engaging, and memorable. The Nex Playground isn’t just a gaming console—it’s a movement-based system that uses physical activities and retro-style challenges to get students up, moving, and working together. This will become an exciting monthly reward as part of “Fun Friday” incentives for my students and P-TECH learners. It will also serve as a reliable and exciting indoor recess option during bad weather or class coverage moments.

Whether students are collaborating on team-based games, competing in timed challenges, or just letting loose and laughing together—this tool promotes physical activity, teamwork, and joy.
