This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our class, we strive to be well-rounded individuals who can produce collaborative work. The students are hard-working, often times, taking their lunch time and after-school time to come into the class and continue to drill on their works-in-progress.

What amazes me about these students is how they can jump into their work on their own.

They find ways to communicate with each other in respectful ways, to provide constructive feedback, and diligently work together to create magnificent works of music.

Despite the many obstacles my students face, they look forward to coming in and getting their work done.

My Project

Our strings classes in my school are some of the most impacted of the music classes. At the beginning of the year, students are a little clumsy when learning, and it causes some intense wear-and-tear on the strings of the guitars, violins, and cellos.

The students need these strings to ensure that we do not skip a day of practice due to missing or broken strings.

It is so important to have backup strings for those snap moments when a string just breaks in class. Having these supplies will help us keep our instruments in working order for the school year and keep students from finding excuses for not taking their instruments home to practice!
