This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach second grade in a low socio-economic
community. We are well funded in some areas but are unable to get other things.
My students are required to read silently for 30 minutes each day. We use the Accelerated Reader program. It is a very valuable tool for increasing students reading ability. The problem with 2nd graders is that they are wiggly and have trouble staying in one place for that long.
I am wishing for 10 small beanbag chairs for the students to sit in during AR reading time. I decided that if they had a really fun place to sit it would help them focus on their reading instead of rolling all over the carpet or moving around so much.
Your donations are very important because this is my only chance to receive the funds I need to get the beanbag chairs. The students will LOVE them! Thanks for your help!
