My students need classroom resources including 1 listening library, 1 laminator, 20 privacy partitions, 1 case of copy paper, 1 pack of construction paper, 2 chart tablets, and 1 pack of tempera paint.
A typical day in my classroom starts off with a warm welcome from my students. My students are eager to learn and are engaged in the daily lessons. I would like my students to walk out of my classroom with a strong foundation and a love of learning with the desire to achieve all they can.
I have 18 wonderful students in my class and they have made my first year of teaching very memorable.
They have lively personalities and bring a smile to my face when they walk through the door. My students are full of stories and love to hear from everyone in the classroom. Coming from low income families I make sure my students do not feel any less of a person because of what they do or do not have. We have a small school with a wonderful, friendly and supportive staff. I am very lucky to become a part of a school that strives for student excellence. I plan to continue many more years at this school.
My Project
In my classroom it is difficult to ask parents to provide any additional supplies that we may need due to lack of finances. We will put the books on CD to use in our library/ listening center. We will use the paint and construction paper to make our crafts or art we do in the classroom. With the laminator I can laminate papers so we can get longer use out of them, we can write on them with the expo markers and they can be reused. When we take a test we will use the dividers to teach them about testing procedures and to avoid any wondering eyes.
I am hoping that my students will understand that these items have been donated to our classroom, so they can appreciate the support from other people who do not know us but want us to have the things that we need in our classroom.
Having resources in the classroom will make my students more engaged in our learning process.
