This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students are learning about history and geography in my classroom all year long. Their conceptual understanding of physical boundaries, locations, and where events happen in history is needing more support. What our classroom needs is an old-fashioned pull down map.
Pull down maps allow instant access to visualizing geographical features in a large-scale formate where all students can see.
Students love the phyiscal aspect of a map, and are more keen to study it rather than an image projected from a screen. By having access to a pull down map, I can instantly give my students a better understanding of geography and their place in the physical world.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
