My Students

Our school is a diverse community with students who come from different backgrounds. We are also a Title I school in Brooklyn with a large ELL population with over 1,300 students. In my second grade ICT classroom, about half of my students are ELL students, which consist of mostly Bengali, Spanish, Cantonese, and Arabic speakers. I also have students with special needs, speech impairment, and learning disabilities.

Each of my students brings something different to our classroom.

We work as a team! We learn from one another and help each other grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

My Project

As New York City public schools open for in-person teaching, we as teachers, are faced with challenges that we never thought we would have in our classrooms. With limited PPE and poor air flow, I am truly concerned about my students' safety as well as the adults in the classroom. As much as I want to teach and support my students with academics and social emotional learning, my priority is our safety!

My students' safety is my number one concern.

I want to make sure my students are protected as they adjust to this new norm of learning. I hope that this air purifier will help clean the air in my classroom, protect us, and keep our room safer. Thank you for your support!
