This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The faces of my 2nd Graders light up every time they can print pictures and projects with their Chromebook-compatible printer.

These recyclable, high capacity, toner-refill cartridges are needed to support the color laser printer my students use every day, and reduce the environmental impact of waste.

The printer came with four 50% starter kit cartridges that were quickly used to print over 300 copies of Geometry vocabulary cards, Research Reports with color photos, and their costume props for a Science Water Cycle performance. Students printed Career Day self protraits for our bulletin boards, Digital Igloos designed with our school's communication platform, and the Yearbook Sale posters they created.

The recent change in Las Vegas, Nevada's climate, and the rising temperatures in classrooms, cause problems with empty cartridges. Exposure to heat can cause the toner powder to melt inside the cartridge, and exposure to moisture can cause the toner powder to clump together. Our plan is to quickly refill and recycle the empty cartridges.

The first part of this amazing project was funded in January. Your help with funding Part 2 before the month of May is greatly appreciated.
