My students need flexible seating options to help keep them actively engaged and focused as they work together throughout the day.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My class includes an amazing group of inquisitive, caring, and very active kiddos! They enjoy working together and exploring the world around them. They also love having the freedom to move around our room to find a comfortable spot that best meets their learning style.
My kids have a wide range of academic abilities and come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds but they share the common bonds of friendship, teamwork, and a love of learning.
Each day brings new educational opportunities and adventures and they always strive to do their personal best. My students all work hard but they also need to be able to move around and get their "wiggles" out to help keep them focused and actively engaged in their daily activities.
I am working to incorporate more flexible seating options in my classroom to help meet the needs of all my students. My kids love to work in pairs and small groups all around the room throughout our school day. I strive to get them up and moving as much as possible because our young learners need to keep their bodies and their minds active and engaged during the learning process.
Studies show that by using a variety of seating options that allow students to move around in the classroom, it helps to maximize their attention span and helps to keep them focused.
By providing my kids with balance balls, wobble chairs, and the soft floor seats, it allows them to pick a comfortable spot that meets their own physical needs. Flexible seating gives them the opportunity to move around and burn off some of their energy while still paying attention to their group mates.
