My students need a classroom carpet, book racks and classroom organization tools, such as buzzers, pocket charts, and magnetic hooks, to make our space easier to use and more appealing to work in.
We are changing the face of education for our students. We are putting students needs first, and letting the rest fall in line. Our building has been designed to support learning anywhere at anytime. We are collaborating to create an environment where all learners thrive!
Our students are second and third graders who learn by DOING.
They are excited, vibrant and ready to take on the challenge of STEM education. They are quickly dropping their old ideas of what education looks like and helping to create a building where learning happens anywhere, at anytime. We are so very excited to help them on this journey!
Our school is cutting edge. It has no real classrooms, just a wide variety of large open learning spaces. While this is exciting and fun, it has also created a few challenges for our learners. We are hoping to solve some of these challenges by obtaining some materials that will make our learning spaces easier to use.
My Project
Our learning spaces are new and beautiful. However, it is still a new building and we need some materials to make it feel and function a little more like "home". Our science lab is fabulous and large. It is tiled to allow for experimentation and easy clean up, but we also read and share in this space. Our students need a comfy rug to sit on while in this space. We are also requesting 2 document cameras to help them share their learning in different rooms.
Our new building has a lot of fabulous storage space, but we want our books to be easily accessible to our students, so we need book racks so students can easily view books on the subjects we are studying. We are requesting one for our science lab and one for our math area.
Our walls are magnetic, movable white boards. They are great, but leave little space to hang pocket charts or learning tools. We are requesting magnetic hooks and magnetic math manipulatives to help make learning more visible for our students.
Our students will be able to more comfortably and easily be able to use our learning environment with these materials.
We believe that these materials will help our students feel more at home in our "house" and help them use our spaces in a more functional and fun way in order to make the most of their learning time.
