Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan are amazing. There are 30 hard-working and eager students in this top 4th grade class. Our school is a Title I school and all of the students in my class qualify for free/reduced lunch. Every student in the class speaks Spanish in their homes and English at school. The students come from various cultural backgrounds including families from The Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, and Puerto Rico.
Simply speaking, the students are exceptional and deserve the best educational resources, opportunities, experiences, and technology.
My Project
The students will be using their new MacBook Pro to connect to the classroom Promethean Board for interactive learning and instruction. Lessons will be spread throughout Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The MacBook will also be used to help further the students' skills in computer coding and programming. Our school offers a wonderful media program which teaches the students basic computer coding and computer graphic arts. This MacBook Pro will replace our old, antiquated, and slow laptop that no longer serves the students' needs.
This MacBook Pro will help to give my students a first-class education and will help bring them into the 21st Century.
