Help me give my students the opportunity of a lifetime to see the Utah Symphony live. Admission has been waved, but the transportation is not. We need busing from the Davis School District to get there.
My 5th-grade gifted students are active, fast learners who are motivated by all things creative, academic, and physical. They yearn for new ways to explore the world around them.
Besides enhanced activity at school, they are also very active in extracurricular sporting, music, and performing arts activities.
Many are masterful muscians and performers already!
These students are always on the go, trying to keep their imaginations and dreams fueled. They are amazing, and with your help, they can reach even greater heights!
My Project
My students are musicians in training. Ninety percent of them play a symphonic instrument, but only two have ever been to a symphony. I want to encourage them to continue with their studies because studies show that musicians become better mathematicians, thinkers, and have greater fine motor skills than those who are not. These skills are necessary for success in school.
During the symphony trip, the students will get to hear from musicians and view instruments up close, as well as see a full performance.
They will learn about a symphony hall and the acoustics needed, increasing their understanding of sound.
