This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a 5th grade teacher in a very high-need community with mainly second language learners.

Throughout my years as a teacher my students have always expressed interest in examining organisms more closely.

We need a microscope and slides which are able to be used by the entire class, as well as in whole class instruction, in order to expand and enrich student learning in the very important area of science. This will help my students to gain a greater understanding in literacy and math along with science. This would be an amazing resource for my students.

Your assistance will give my students the rare opportunity to experience a previously undiscovered world, which is right under our noses. Your donation will spark an interest in science and, possibly, make a huge change in the life of a student.
