My students need new volleyballs, soccer goals, and other soccer equipment for our girls volleyball and soccer teams. My students also need new floor hockey equipment.

My Students

"I think the most important thing about coaching is that you have to have a sense of confidence about what you're doing." -Phil Jackson. I believe providing my players/students the opportunity to practice with appropriate equipment will give them the confidence they need to be successful.

This year, our school will be fully inclusive from kindergarten through the 8th grade.

The diversity of the student population is reflective of the inclusion model. Primarily, my players are students I educate from the middle school grades (6-8); a majority of whom receive specialized instruction through Individual Education Programs (IEPs), while all students receive direct instruction in the inclusion setting. These students already face obstacles due to their need for specialized programs, not having the appropriate equipment makes the task even more difficult. My students/players are eager to succeed and learn despite the barriers they encounter and would benefit from receiving this new equipment.

My Project

All the materials that I am requesting will help provide my players and students the opportunity to learn and grow their team sports skills. Without programs like DonorsChoose.org my students would not have the appropriate equipment to use during class and at team practices. In the last year I have completed 3 DonorsChoose.org projects that have greatly improved the quality of our school's gymnasium and the quality of their experience through new equipment. The soccer and volleyball equipment I am requesting through this project will provide my students with high quality soccer goals, storage equipment, shin guards, soccer balls, and volleyballs. Through this new equipment the students will be able to refine their soccer skills as well as learn the importance of maintaining the integrity of the equipment; learning responsibility and taking pride.

This donation will improve the experience my players and students have in our school's gymnasium while practicing their soccer skills.

By providing my student athletes the opportunity to practice their skills with quality equipment, it will change their lives for the better!
