it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Dear Prospective Donor,
I am a first year instrumental music teacher at William Cullen Bryant High School in Long Island City, Queens in New York City. I teach five classes and 150 students ranging from beginner bands with of students having no prior experience to a wonderful jazz band of some very talented, motivated young players. I am so happy that I entered this profession, and I really look forward to teaching and learning with my classes every day. Every single one of my students uses a school instrument to practice, learn, and perform.
Unfortunately, several of our instruments have fallen into a damaged, unplayable state and our school does not have the funds or supplies to repair them. Pads are missing from saxophones, trumpet mouthpieces have become stuck in the body of the instruments, screws are missing from flutes, as well as several other issues. I have experience doing instrument repairs in a music store and received even more training while studying music education at NYU. With the right supplies, I could improve the condition of many of our instruments significantly, providing much more productive and enjoyable experiences for all of my students.
The Valentino Deluxe Repair Kit includes all of the necessary supplies, parts, and tools that I would need to be able to repair so many of our musical instruments and directly benefit every one of my students. We would greatly appreciate your generosity in helping us to enhance our daily musical experiences by improving the quality of our instruments.
