My students need books in our class library. We have limited books and these seasonal favorites would be a wonderful addition.

My Students
All of my students are deaf or hard of hearing between the ages of 4 and 6 years. My students use listening technology such as hearing aids, cochlear implants, and BAHAs. My students are learning listening and spoken language.
Due to their deafness, my students work extremely hard to access the general education curriculum.
My goal is to help my students reach the academic level of their typically hearing peers.
Our school is a title one, low income school. Many of my students are also English language learners. In addition to being deaf or hard of hearing and learning to listen and speak, they are learning a language different from their home language. My students are required to work extremely hard to learn language and build a foundation for future academic success.
My Project
These books will enhance my deaf and hard of hearing students' learning. Many of them have low language or language delays and are in need of as much exposure to books and reading as possible. These books will go well with our upcoming seasonal unit and will be great in our class library. My students would enjoy having some new and different books, such as We're Going on a Picnic!, "Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving, and The Snowy Day, to read in the classroom.
Deaf and hard of hearing children enjoy looking through books and picture reading as they learn to develop reading skills.
We read books in class each day and use them to enhance the curriculum.
