Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students come from a low socioeconomic community. They are full of energy and curiosity to explore. Our school is a UTK/PALS-5th grade.

With these materials we will be able to section a whole area of the big yard and designate it to kindergarten.

The original kinder yard area was offered to UTK and special ed. Our kinder students have been using the big yard with limited things and activities to do.

Here students will have different areas to engage and socialize with their peers in a more productive way.

Our goal is to create a music area where students can use instruments and go along with music being played. Students will also have an art area where they will be able to paint, a library area for those students who just want to relax and look at a book, an area to enjoy bubbles, an area to play designated games.

These resources will allow students to learn like the flower chalk boards students can write sentences or practice high frequency words, hula hoops can be used with balls to play math games.

I’m really excited to be able to have students be more engaged and have less behavior problems outside because they will be engaged and collaborating with peers
