My Students

Do you want to help out a first year teacher? Well now is your chance! I am looking to collect an engaging piece of technology, not in my first year classroom budget, to utilize through various activities throughout the day.

The children in my classroom are five and six years old.

Most our day is spent in an engaging, motivating, and fun environment. For these kindergarten students, learning needs to be upbeat or interest in any subject is lost quite quickly. Our school resides in a small town, close knit community in Wisconsin of low to moderate poverty.

My Project

Research has taught educators that technology provides meaningful and engaging learning experiences for all children. On our new classroom iPad, children will be able to read books from an app called "Storia" (sponsored by Scholastic) or play math adding games in an app called "Math Ninja" all while keeping their interest. Children can work both individually and in groups. I plan to use our classroom iPad multiple times throughout the day!

Children in this new generation are surrounded by technology each and every day.

It is important for teachers not only to embrace technology, but to embed it in the curriculum. New technology keeps the interest of the child in a new and engaging way. Thank you so much for your time and interest in my classroom iPad! The children will truly enjoy it!
