Please Help My Unathletic 3rd Graders

I teach 3rd grade at PS 7 in Elmhurst, Queens. Although I get a good laugh every time I bring my students out for recess, it is pretty sad how little athletic ability they have. They only have gym for 45 minutes each week, and our gym teachers do a wonderful job with the resources they have. However, when I want to bring my class outside, I have to scrounge around for a ball, maybe a bat if I am lucky. I am asking for sporting goods so I can teach my kids how to be real kids. They rarely go outside to play and when they do, they just run around in circles. It is pretty sad to watch, but as I said, it keeps me laughing. Some wiffle balls and bats, kickballs, frisbees, soccer balls, basketball, jump ropes, hula hoops, etc., would be great. I would love if someone could put rims on the outside basketball hoops, as they were ripped down long ago. Please help my students--you never know, I might have the next Derek Jeter or Sheryl Swoopes sitting in front of me just waiting for the chance to show his or her stuff.
