This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher. My students find it difficult to learn and complete classwork without assistive technology. My kids (students) have diverse special needs and disabilities. Some are very sensitive to light and need light coverings to reduce the flare of the classroom florescent lights. For others, flourescent covers will provide calmer environment that would enhance thier ability to learn.

Some find it difficult to complete their classwork seated in traditional desks.

They require special seating to motivate them to complete independent work. These students love Bean bags and would do work if seating on them.

Some of my students demonstrate sensory needs. Sensory items such as fidgets, and wiggle seats will help them stay focused to learn and complete their class work. My students will be more successful if provided sensory items.

Most of my students are kinesthetic learners who need manipulatives to help them learn math. I also have students in my special education classroom that are social skills challenged. Items such as dart board, obstacle course, Liquid fusion tiles, carnival outdoor game set will enhance cooperative learning and social interactions creating opportunities for learning proper social skills. My students and I will forever be grateful for helping us get these items for our classroom. Thank you so much for helping my students learn!
