Please Help My Little First-Grade Student Learn at Home
Help me give my students write and wipe boards, magnetic boards with magnetic letters, plastic plates, phonics games, alphabet and month posters green crayons and red crayons for multi-sensory learning at home.
On March 13th, my students were told to get their backpacks and go home just like on any other day. Little did we know that 2 hours later, school would be closed, and a few weeks later, we found out that school would be closed for the year! I am currently tutoring a student outside of school using my Orton-Gillingham Training.
My Project
The Orton-Gillingham program is all about multi-sensory learning, so students are using hands-on items to learn. Because learning can not take place in the classroom, I want to supply this little student with learning materials that she can use to follow along and do the activities from her home with my help and support.
Learning to read is such an important gift for a child to have, and I want to make sure that my little student, who struggles, can read very well when she starts second grade!
I am very excited about being able to teach this little student throughout the rest of the school year and during the summer, and I can't wait to see her confidence and attitude toward reading grow like crazy! She will use the magnetic boards and magnetic letters to manipulate and make words, she will use the plates with sand on them so that she can feel the letters she is spelling. She will use the red crayons for writing red words, and the green crayons for writing green decodable words. She will be able to practice and reinforce what I teach her with the phonics games. Your support of these learning materials for her will make such a big difference. Thank you for any help that you can give!
