My Project

Hello! I am a 5th grade teacher in a low income school. Over the last 20 years that I have been teaching, I have noticed shifts in recent years in the ability for my students to sit still for extended periods of time.

I am doing my best to meet the students where they are with little resources available.

I am asking for some flexible seating for my classroom. In the last few years I have noticed that my students at times would rather stand then sit or need to take frequent breaks to stand up and get their wiggles out. I strongly believe that I need to change the learning environment for my students to accommodate them.

I would love a couple wobble chairs to help those students that need constant movement to calm their bodies. I would also like a couple standing desks for those students who work better while standing. Presently, some of the students mention having sore backs from trying to bend over a bookcase that is readily available as a "standing desk" option. These children deserve better and the lack of financial resources should not be a factor in the quality of education they are getting. Your help in making this happen would be greatly appreciated.
