My Students
I work with a very dedicated, innovative, caring, and compassionate team of educators! My students are a unique team of caring and inquisitive learners. They have learned to believe in themselves through risk taking, willingness to learn, and experiencing success and independence within the safe nurturing, and supportive learning environment we created.
Every student in our class adds a unique and luminous touch to our group!
My students eagerly share their expertise with each other to help our class grow and expand their horizons. We celebrate a variety of cultures and know how important it is to support every student's individuality through acceptance; whether it aligns with our own interests or not.
"Ancora Umparo" is our motto as we are always learning! My students enjoy guiding their own inquiry, creating and solving puzzles, spreading kindness and appreciation throughout our school, and exploring their creativity! They impress me every day and make every day a new and exciting learning adventure for all of us!
My Project
This amazing project-based learning (PBL) Design Camp at High Tech High, the Mecca of PBL, is an educator's playground! This amazing workshop will help me to create, critique, and share authentic PBL curriculum to ultimately bring back to my own school.
The PBL Design Camp is facilitated by the awesome HTH K-12 staff and GSE faculty and takes place in the HTH school sites.
I had the privilege to visit and tour these campuses a couple of years ago and the experience left a lasting impression. I will have the opportunity to develop a project concept, project title, essential question, and a PBL calendar to scaffold my students' learning. I will also become a stronger facilitator for the PBL learning cycle I am currently leading my colleagues through.
Learning is a gift for everyone involved, and it is the gift that keeps on giving. My participation in this workshop will have a ripple effect with a positive impact that will transcend both my colleagues and all of our students; ultimately raising the levels of learning for everyone!
