Please Help Me Create a New Learning Environment For Kids

My students need the cushions to sit on instead of sitting in their chairs at their desks and the carpet will be placed in our classroom library.

My Students

My students will come into this school year full of energy and an eagerness for learning. I'm geared up to fill them with as much knowledge as possible!

I am completely changing the way I teach my student this year.

I have done a great deal of reading and researching this summer to find the best ways in which children learn. One way I found is called flexible seating. Flexible seating when you give your students different options other than sitting at a tradition desk in a traditional chair. The options in my room will include: bungee chairs, beach chairs, video chairs, and a few others (all bought using my money.)

I want to provide just a few more options for them but my (own) classroom budget is spent. I'm hoping to get the last few items I still would like through generous donations. This year is going to be awesome!

My Project

I am going to change the learning environment in my classroom this year so my students aren't sitting in desks and chairs all day long. My students will be able to make choices as to where they will do their independent work after I have given them direct instruction. Choices will include: sitting at a picnic table, sitting on stability balls, Hokki stools, bungee chairs or beach chairs, using reading pillows, or a standing desk. I'm very excited to observe my students' choices and see the progress they make as learners in this "flexible seating" environment during this school year.
