This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My student are from low income pathways school. The students have all struggled succeeding at school in the past and are here for the smaller class sizes. Most of my students are from low income families from diverse backgrounds. Students are turning around and striving to be the best they can be. The students are great kids they have just struggled in past experiences.

Students are striving towards real life connections to the curriculum they are being asked to achieve.

By providing an alternative pathway they will graduate college and career ready.

My Project

I already use Argument Driven Inquiry in my classroom. I believe by becoming a certified trainer I can better reach my students. I will also be certified to train other teachers in my building and district to implement the ADI process in their classrooms. With a move to NGSS standards the ADI process is exactly what my students need because it places them in control of designing their own labs and learning in order to answer a guiding question posed to them. ADI promotes teamwork and collaboration which studies show with deepen their understanding of science and be able to apply their though process across other curriculums and life situations.
