My students need a numeracy center to help them make real-life connections to abstract math concepts.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Wilson's classroom raised $419

Math matters to my students. I teach 5th grade math to over 50 children. Our school is 55-60% free lunch, and we need your help!
After attending a workshop this summer, I came away excited about sharing math in "real-world" terms with my students. They would really benefit from learning math with calendars, blocks, and graphing that they can participate in every day.
Too often, math manipulatives are put aside for the upper elementary grades and only used daily with the lower grades. This numeracy center will keep the manipulatives out for the children so that we can daily use our hands to help our brains make those all-important connections to real world math. Whether learning to count money, find multiples and factors, or use classroom situations for graphing, this center allows me to have the resources to easily teach these things regularly instead of putting them aside after a unit.
Your help would make it possible for my students to take concepts from the concrete phase of learning to the abstract. Research shows that children use "memories" of what they see to retain knowledge, and these math supplies would greatly benefit me in creating math memories. Thank you for your support!
