My students need more read aloud books, foundational reading skill games, and 2 pocket charts to organize all students work!

My Students
1st year teacher with barely any books. My kindergartners need exposure to books that will make them LOVE to read! They love games and I know reading games will get them reading fast! With little storage space, the pocket charts will help organize their work and warm up the classroom.
My Kindergartners attend a public school in Brooklyn.
I teach a Special Education class, but unfortunately many of the student are not getting the services they need. I am determined to improve their reading proficiency and provide for them the best education possible but I have very little books and supplies. My students are adorable, loving and inquisitive. They are very energetic, easily distracted and lose interest in school quickly. The games will work wonders when it comes to developing their reading proficiency. They absolutely love playing games, especially bingo. They are a population of students that easily lose focus during lessons. Reading games will effectively strengthen their foundational skills because they love to have fun! Many of them are really struggling in literacy. Poor self-esteem inhibits their engagement in lessons, and nothing is learned when they are not engaged. The games will develop their literacy proficiency and improve their self-esteem!
My Project
Many of my students are struggling in literacy. They need constant positive reinforcement to encourage their involvement. Several of my students have poor self-esteem that is definitely having a negative impact on their development. They refuse to do work because they do not think they are capable. One of my students constantly calls himself stupid. Movement learning activities and games keep my reluctant students involved, thus keeps them learning! I have one alphabet bingo and they absolutely love it. I need more reading games, because it is the most effective way I can foster learning for my stubborn kiddies. I was thrilled to finally see them thinking and engaged during bingo. All I need is more games to build their reading skills! I will do whatever I can to get them reading! Because we have no closet space, the pocket charts will allow the students to have a space for their belongings. It will also warm up the classroom and create a more enriching environment!

We create lifelong learners by getting students to LOVE learning. By providing fun, exciting and interactive learning experiences, my students will succeed! My goal is to instill a love of learning. Using reading games that my students love will create the optimal learning experience. The games will improve their reading skills, boost their self-esteem and make them realize how fun reading is!
