My Students
2021! Writing this donor's choose project request has gotten me excited for another year. Another year of learning. Another year of little minds and excited faces ready for school. Whether we are in person or on the computer, these little faces of the future need us now more than ever. This is my 17th year teaching first grade on the southside of Chicago in the Pilsen neighborhood.
My students are hard working, resilient learners who crave routine, love and deserve a safe space for learning.
I will work hard and do my best to provide this for them and look forward to all that this new year brings!
My Project
Now more than ever I want to create a safe, fun and healthy classroom for my students! My students need an environment where they will feel welcome and ready to learn. Helping keep my students safe with masks, hand sanitizer and their own learning materials like crayons, glue sticks, pencils, erasers and basic school materials is what we need the most right now. I usually foster an environment of sharing materials- but we are unable to do that right now. The materials I have requested will make a huge difference in their learning! Most students do not have the basic necessary supplies they need for everyday assignments. They will be able to complete their literacy and math activities at home and at school! They will be able to have their own pencil box with their supplies!
Providing students with necessary learning materials will help them engage, grow and learn in a healthy and safe environment!
My first grade students crave this safe space and would love supplies that will foster creativity and learning.
