My Project
Flexible seating offers numerous benefits to students, enhancing their learning experience in various ways. By providing different options such as bean bags, floor cushions, standing desks, or stools, students can choose seating that best suits their comfort and learning style. This freedom promotes a sense of autonomy and responsibility, empowering students to take ownership of their learning environment.
Additionally, flexible seating encourages movement and activity, which can improve blood flow and concentration, ultimately enhancing student focus and productivity.
Furthermore, it fosters a more inclusive environment by accommodating diverse needs and preferences, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. Overall, flexible seating promotes student engagement, collaboration, and well-being, contributing to a positive and dynamic learning atmosphere.
My goal for this project is to provide enough flexible seating to pull a small reading group of students in seats that are comfortable for them. I find that the normal plastic chairs we already have are often too large to fit at my kidney table, so I have to pull smaller groups, and that results in missed learning opportunities for some students.
My students are special in countless ways, each one bringing unique qualities, talents, and experiences to the classroom. They are a diverse group, with individual strengths and areas for growth, making for a rich and dynamic learning environment.
