This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently a special education teacher in a high needs middle school. My students are eager to learn but lack proper classroom resources. I am requesting a Common Core Fractions and Decimals kit to assist my academically challenge students.
My students are very motivated and try their best despite the academic disabilities.
In addition to Special Education classification obstacles, my students come from low income homes. All of the students in my school are eligible for free or reduced lunch due to the household incomes.
My Project
My students are classified as emotionally disturbed, academically delayed or learning disabled. They need all the help they can get to get them to the same level as their middle school peers. I am requesting the operations with fractions and decimals common core teaching kit. The kit comes with an extensive guide filled with tons of activity ideas that help students master operations with fractions and decimals. It provides you with all the materials needed for whole-class, small-groups or individual practice. I know this kit will assist my students in their quest of conquering the common core despite their disabilities.
If you think back to your school days you probably recall the events that you actually did something during class, like building a model or dissecting a frog.
I would love to give my students the same opportunity for MATH. With your help, I will be able to do just that and meet their individualized education needs in the process. Thank you in advance for your support!
