This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year so far we have had a couple of incidents involving backpacks on the floor and students tripping and almost falling. As much as they are reminded to make sure their backpacks are upright next to their table, and not lying across pathways in our classroom, some of my students just leave their backpacks strewn across areas everyone walks through throughout the day. And unfortunately, they can't place their backpack on the back of their chairs since we have chair socks hanging there to help keep their desk cleared to complete work. But at the same time, backpacks on the back of the chair often mean bulky items that get in the way of walking around the tables whether you're a student moving into small groups or an adult trying to get to a student who needs your help. So the next best thing in a classroom without closets or cubbies with hooks would be a backpack storage cart.

A backpack storage cart will help keep backpacks off the floor, preventing anyone in the classroom from accidentally tripping over or falling because their foot gets entangled in a backpack strap.

This project aims to help my students keep their classroom organized and safe to move around the classroom.
