Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember being able to jump rope with your friends? How about kick ball? My students aren't able to go outside and play the way we used to. Being inner city kids, their only playground is the gym.
I teach a wonderful group of inner-city kids who love to play.
Really, what kids don't? However, they don't have the equipment they need to all play at the same time. We are blessed to have a terrific program called PlayWorks. This program teaches the kids to share, play together, and respect each other. They have embraced this program wholeheartedly.
My Project
My students need jump ropes, a ball pump, and inflating needles in order to participate in Playworks. It has become increasingly important for kids to have physical activity. With your help, our school will be able to allow all the children to learn the value of exercise. They will have the supplies needed to all work together to better their health and their ability to learn. Healthy bodies yield healthy minds!!
We all know the value of good health.
Good health comes from daily exercise. Our PlayWorks program teaches the kids inclusion, respect, and fair play. The ability to engage in physical activity every day is vital to these young people.
