This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember when you were young and could run and play outside? I do, too. However, the students in my classroom don't. They have limited time outside because of the ways things are these days.
I teach a wonderful group of kids from a low-socioeconomic area.
They are inner-city kids who don't get to spend a lot of time outside. Therefore, they don't get the exercise needed to promote good health. They do however have Playworks in school where they can play games, learn to cooperate, and get healthy.
My Project
With your generous donation, these wonderful, active kids can get the exercise they need to remain healthy and safe. Our school has Playworks which is s program that teaches community, fair play, and exercise. Unfortunately, our program doesn't have the funds needed to get the supplies they need for all kids to participate at the same time. Because of this, some kids don't get to play as often as they would like.
We need need hula hoops, blue tape, and play balls for all the kids to play at the same time.
There will be less time spent waiting in line and more time being active; which is what kids need. Thank you for your support.
