Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our kindergarteners have recess and play on our basketball courts. Considering they are so young, they can't reach the baskets and therefore is not much for the students to do. The parachute and the koosh paddles will help our students work on sharing, cooperation, and teamwork. Active movement during recess works the brain's prefrontal cortex, which helps build connections between the creative and analytic sides of the brain.

This equipment will give the students a chance to practice fine motor skills, good sportsmanship, sharing, and teamwork.

Recess is extremely important for the students on a daily basis. It helps children get regular exercise, which is important for their overall health. Recess also helps foster good social and communication skills. We have found that our students learn better and are more focused because of the break they are getting from cognitive tasks.
